Please join us in this celebration of talent, as the artists of the future display their works of art in the hallways of the Community Center. As Reminder…please accept our invitation to join us tonight for our Spring Community Conversion. Denver Homeowners will have the chance to learn about the Denver Energy Challenge presented by the City and County of Denver Department of Environmental Health. The Denver Energy Challenge is a unique program that offers energy saving tips with an Energy Audit. Tonight, you can learn what an Energy Audit is, what rebates and low-interest loans are available, and how you can participate in the program. So far over 9,000 homeowners in Denver have done so already. This is a program that is available to homeowners within the City and County of Denver only. Additionally, Westwood residents, and residents who live in Southwest Denver can join us for a conversation about the Westwood Community Plan, presented by the City and County of Denver Community Planning and Development. Volunteers of America Handyman Program has been handing out free fans for the past 12 years and this year is no exception as the 13th annual Cool Down And Be Safe Colorado campaign kicks off. Please join the Southwest Denver Coalition in hosting a FREE community Education Night for “Child Abuse Prevention”. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness about preventing child abuse and neglect across the country. A presentation and discussion will be presented by Families First and Fresh Start. Dinner will be provdided, along with resources and door prizes.

Lowell Blvd.. Anyone interested in receiving updates from Councilman Lopez’s office and the District 4 Denver Police Department are encouraged to attend. Southwest Improvement Council and the Westwood Community Center will be closed on Monday, March 30th in recognition of Cesar Chavez Day. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, March 31st.

The Southwest Improvement Council (SWIC)has the applications for the 2015 free seeds and transplant application forms available. The deadline for the applications to be filled out and brought to the center is Friday January 30. Please come in to pick up an application or click on the link below for an application.
